This week we took a quick trip south to Orlando so Darrell could take care of some requirements for his new job and stopped by Daytona Beach on the way back.  Once we got there, I was surprised to find that driving on the beach was encouraged and took a photo of Darrell’s car relaxing in the sand!  I thought for sure that driving on the beach would do something bad to it and maybe it does.  People were lying on beach towels close to their cars and far from the beach, it was bizarre but I would still like to return and visit for a weekend to explore the beach more.

Florida has 106 specialty plates which are available for an extra $25 per year.  I decided to get the “Animal Friend” plate because I like animals and the money generated from the plate will be used to fund spay/neuter initiatives in the state.  Anyway, the eyes on the dog and the cat looked funny so I fixed them by coloring  in the odd areas of orange and gluing crystals to make them sparkle!

 In other news, last week we had a bland Valentine’s Day dinner and I had a lame and lonely 29th Birthday.  We should be switching from our crappy cable connection to DSL early in the week and also taking a quick trip to the FAA office in Orlando.  Also, I hope to start on my ‘moving announcements’ soon.

There is a nice paved bike trail right outside our new place and there are tons of happy looking people riding their bikes on it and around town so I bought a bike too.  I figure after sitting in front of the computer all day it would be nice to get out and ride.

Today, I woke Darrell up extra early because I had a hunch that the local Target had a Wii for us and asked if he wanted to check it out.  There was no line and at least five other Wii’s in stock so we purchased ours and shopped around for some other items.

I haven’t been able to cook much because our kitchen is still in a state of chaos but I did make some good Boca chili, corn bread, and MMTs for Darrell.  Also I hope to make Darrell’s new burly co-workers some sweet treats for Valentine’s Day!
