Today I dragged Darrell to a craft fair in Austin. Check out the ad below:
Â

According to the above it looked promising and I was excited to go and get some new ideas.Â
When we got there we found twelve booths of vendors mostly selling items I expected to find a garage sale and some odd folky music. I did buy a bar of lavender goat milk soap from The Cosmic Goat lady because I do think goats are cute and have a love for great smelling soaps. As a whole the Craft Fling, which could be renamed to “Crap Fling”, was disappointing and I felt bad for wasting so much time and gas on the drive to and from Austin.
We came home and I made another angel food cake, this time I used one of Martha Stewart’s recipes from her Baking Handbook and bought my egg whites pre-separated. The cake looks much better and ‘taller’ than the one I made previously.
I am also still working on my bird houses for the bird house auction and picked up some large popsicle sticks to cover the roof of my barn bird house. I thought they looked kind of boring in their plain beige color so I brewed a pot of coffee and dumped them in for some color. You can see them bathing here, they kind of look like hot dogs in a well loved pan:

Tomorrow I am going to do some spring cleaning to sell or donate some of the things we don’t use anymore and we are going to watch the Alamo City Roller Girls bout at our first flat track roller derby in our very own town.
