So… this work week hasn’t been great, but things are turning around and I am very thankful for that!

My best friend from middle school found me online this week.  It was nice to catch up with her for a little bit via email and it really would be great to see her again in person, gosh it’s been at least fourteen years since I last saw her.  She is married, living in Idaho, has three beautiful children, and is currently attending school in hopes of becoming a paralegal.   I am so happy to hear that she is doing so well!

There are a ton of family & far away friend birthdays between now and the end of April so I decided to make my own cards for some of them with this goofy family picture:

I always forget how hard it is to get Kitty and Darrell to pose while I run back and forth with between camera fidgets.

Over the weekend I started to paint three bird houses so that I could donate them to SAMMinistries annual birdhouse sale and auction to help the homeless people of San Antonio. Last year I donated two mosaic bird houses and really enjoyed looking at the ones for sale.I’ll take pictures of them when I am finished decorating them.

Tonight I went to my favorite spa, Isabelle’s, and had a nice relaxing waterless pedicure!

My feet are super soft and ready to get back into their skates tomorrow evening.

On Friday we had an awesome dinner at Paesanos on 1604. Can you believe that we had never been there before?! Before your meal you are treated to a tray filled with hummus, olive oil, green and black kalamata olives, and fresh slices of bread. I could have just had this starter and been done! I ordered the Smoked Salmon, Shaved Fennel, Apples and Bagel Chips salad and Darrell had the Chicken Parmigiana we finished with the chocolate hazelnut torte. The whole meal was perfect and the setting was beautiful.

Here is a picture of my salad:

On Saturday we went to my favorite restaurant in New Braunfels called Pat’s Place with Darrell’s Mom. It was nice catching up with her and it sounds like we will be heading up there again soon to play bingo!

On the way to New Braunfels we saw the oddest jesus truck! Look! It even has a big white cross in the back!

We then headed north to San Marcos to do some outlet mall shopping. I’ve been looking for a pair of Skechers 4wheelers, which are just tennis shoes with roller skates on them, and have had a difficult time finding them at a reasonable price, so I thought I’d at least check the Skechers outlet. They didn’t have them. I did finally get a pair off of ebay today for a decent price because the seller spelled Skechers wrong.

The trip to the outlet mall wasn’t a total loss. We did buy a new Le Creuset utensil holder in flame to match my beautiful tea kettle, a nice shirt for Darrell, two candles from Yankee Candle (Merlot & Sunflower), and some treats from Harry & David including three jars of pepper & onion relish.

We continued our shopping spree back home in San Antonio at Old Navy and Barnes & Noble.

Today we only left the apartment to eat at Water Street for salad and gumbo, I can’t seem to stay away from this place! Then on to HEB for groceries.

I am looking forward to next weekend! We are headed to Austin for a late lunch/early dinner at Hoover’s (cheddar cheese garlic grits here I come!) and then to see the Rollergirls !
