I just finished making three big batches of “Cookie Crack†for Happy Friday. I feel sugar high from all the sweetness in the air. If you will be at work tomorrow please stop by the Ping Pong room for a slice or four!
OMG! I think the people living in the apartment across the way still have their Christmas tree up!

I started to take pictures of the tree in the neighbors windows from my balcony across the street but then thought they might get suspicious of the flash so I stopped.
Maybe it’s not too weird that they still have a tree up considering I am already hanging my Valentine’s Day wreath on our front door.
Last night I went on a mosaic spree and glued glass tile to anything I could find. These items included a birdhouse and an 8×10 picture frame. I did consider embellishing another stapler but changed my mind at the last minute.
Oh another vacation to Playa would be really nice right about now!
Believe it or not but I have never eaten oatmeal.
I wasn’t very hungry this evening so I decided to make Martha’s favorite oatmeal and hope for the best.
I left out the raisons since I don’t have any and the brown rice because for some reason the idea of oatmeal and brown rice just don’t sound all that great together.
My oatmeal wasn’t the prettiest but with the addition of salt it was pretty good and not as mushy as I thought oatmeal would be!
I think I will experiment more with oatmeal by following the recipes and tips from the fine oatmeal manufacture, McCann’s Steel Cut Oats .

What a boring entry!

Tonight I finally finished sticking on the tile for the mosaic mirror project I started in October. I am nervous about grouting this piece because the tiles are extremely close together.
I have a few other pictures here and will have more once I grout. Wish me luck!
I really should change the table cloth too!

I have been contemplating a scrapbook of my cat, Kitty. I have never ‘scrapped’ before so I have been DVR’ing a show from DIY called “DIY Scrapbooking” so that I can get a clue as to what I am getting myself into. So, I’ve watched a handful of shows and have discovered the following things:
The women who go on the show are very strange. They all seem to have this weird look in their eye and act as though they are on an infomercial.
Scrapbooking is a lot of work. The scrapbooks which are shown are incredibly detailed and perfect in every way. They must have taken a long time to compile and glue on the trinkets, ribbons, rub ons, stickers, matting, and whatever else they use.
Hopefully, once I get started on my scrapbook of Kitty the layout will come easily to me and will turn out well.
Other short bits:
I am happy to write that I have already ordered Darrell’s Valentine’s Day gift and purchased the card!
We are having a kick off at work tomorrow which should be fun to watch.
Oh, anyone looking for a fanatical job in San Antonio? If so let me know and keep Feb 1st free between 5:30 PM and 7:30PM Central time.
Darrell found a lactose free milk called MooTopia that does not upset his tummy. He also has a nasty cereal addiction.
Yay! New Lost and Veronica Mars tonight!
A few years ago we went to the Comal Country Fair. While I was admiring the cakes decorated by kids I found this creative cake:

I would have never in a million years thought to make a hunting themed cake or go hunting for that matter.
Darrell and I exchanged anniversary gifts tonight since the gifts we had ordered magically arrived this evening. I bought him a leather catchall for his cell phone, watch, change and whatever else lives in his pockets and he got me a beautiful crystal vase.
This has been a downer of a week work wise, I am really glad tomorrow is Friday.
Today is a sad day for all in San Antonio who loved Hoover’s Cooking on San Pedro. The rumors are true, the restaurant has closed:

Today I went to my first baby shower. It was for my friends Elda and Sergio who will be fantastic parents. They will be having their baby girl, Sophia, sometime next week.

Update 1/10/06:
It’s a girl! Sergio and his wife, Elda, welcomed into the world last night at 10:00 a beautiful baby girl. Her name is Sophia Raquel and she weighs 6 lbs. 4 oz.
